WisDOT holding preconstruction meeting for WIS 35 project

Project in Somerset includes replacing pavement, upgrading intersection and utilities

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is holding a preconstruction meeting for an upcoming improvement project on WIS 35 from County C in the town of Somerset to Laser Driver in the village of Somerset, all in St. Croix County.

The public is invited to attend to learn about the work planned, construction impacts and the project schedule.

      When: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 19

      Where: St. Anne Catholic School

                   140 Church Hill Road

                   Somerset, WI 54025

To address pavement deterioration, WisDOT plans to:

•             Replace the existing pavement from County C to Laser Drive.

•             Upgrade the WIS 35/Main Street intersection, including adding new traffic signals.

•             Replace and upgrade storm sewer.

In addition, the village plans to replace sanitary sewer and water main.

Construction tentatively is set to begin April 26 with the north-south leg of the project from Laser Drive to the WIS 35/Main Street intersection. That segment will be closed to through traffic, but access will be maintained to businesses and residences, except for some short duration driveway closures, which property owners will be notified of in advance.
